Miguel Oldenburg’s work unravels the cultural, political, and social threads of Venezuela, exposing both their beauty and their ruptures. His paintings engage in dialogues about migration, the victories and sorrows of the Venezuelan diaspora, and his own restless Latino identity. For Oldenburg, painting is a way to seize the loose strands of existence and weave them into something that refuses silence; where each brushstroke carries a rebellious spirit of defiance, and a call of hope for the place he imagine, one where he belongs, one to return to.
